Start to Finish Homes

A thoughtful way to live safely, simply, and independently

Because one day, your home should take care of you.

As we grow older, the way we live changes.

Every step, every corner, every reach into a cupboard starts to matter. And for those of us caring for someone aging—or living with reduced mobility—home can quietly become a place of frustration, even risk.

Start to Finish Homes are not just houses.

They are purpose-built dwellings designed for people who want to stay independent, stay safe, and live with dignity in a place that truly works for them.

Testimonal

When we made the decision to retire and downsize from our home of 40yrs we found it difficult to find what we wanted. We knew we wanted the house to be step free, have three reasonable sized bedrooms, a larger shower and a smaller yard. A home we could happily retire in. It was difficult, until we came across Start to Finish Homes. Right from the initial viewing we knew it was exactly what we were looking for.

Clearly Mark had done his homework about what was missing from the market and set about designing a plan to show what was possible. We have 3 good sized bedrooms, a large shower in the bathroom and ensuite, a lovely pantry, large walk-in-linen storage area, a well setup laundry and a great kitchen, dining and living area as well as a second living area.

The windows are double glazed tilt and turn windows, the sliding door to the outside alfresco is also double glazed. All light switches are easy to press, the powerpoints are just ‘plug in’ (no switches to turn on and off), data points are in each living room and bedroom. The house is all electric, has central heating and came with a new refrigerator and microwave, a wall oven that has the door open out and also a new front loader washing machine and clothes dryer. The induction cooktop is easy to use.

The garage has space for two scooters – not needed yet, but who knows. Mark was wonderful to deal with, very attentive and helpful in getting us to achieve what we needed to in order to make this lovely home ours. It was easy to see, when working with him, that Mark is very focussed on wanting to achieve a comfortable, easy care home for people to retire in without compromising on quality. Mark has clearly given a great deal of thought to what the market needed and set out to design something that gives retirees another option for independent living.

We have only been in here for a few weeks, still settling in, but we are very pleased that we found Mark and his home and very happy with our decision.

Delighted to have found our ‘retirement’ home.

Thanks Mark.

About us

Designed from personal experience

Mark Burnham has worked in the building industry for over 35 years. But it was his own family’s journey that inspired these homes.

  • A father who needed care for over a decade.
  • A younger brother living with autism.
  • A family committed to supporting people with disability.

Mark saw how traditional housing often fails to meet real-life needs—so he decided to design something better.

What makes these homes different?
